The inspiration for this painting was on old, black-and-white photograph of my Grandma Shirley Kaiser (left), my Aunt Lill (Center), and my Great-Grandmother Blanche Kaiser. I put Owl heads on all of them. I was thinking about how they had been conditioned to hide their feelings, and conform to societal ideals.
