I live a block away from this colorful restaurant, Ovo Frito. It means "Fried Egg" in Portuguese. There is always a lively environment to see. I was moved to paint this because of the colorful red umbrellas and yellow awning. This painting was executed quickly and loosely, in an Alla Prima fashion. The marks are more Impressionistic than my other paintings, which include more detail. I enjoyed loosening up on this one.
