This is a double-portrait of my husband, Luis Amaral, PhD. He is a scientist on the faculty of Northwestern's McCormick School of Engineering. I see him all of the time, so I was moved to focus on his eyeglasses. He spends his time scrutinizing data, and looking for creative ways to interpret it. The lens of his glasses refract the light hitting his face. I am always very focused on refraction.
