This piece was inspired by the tiles on my bathroom floor. It is a 2D quilt. my grandmother makes quilts, and I was enamored by her abilities to turn scraps into something beautiful. So, I used a pattern of a six-sided shape to replicate it on individual scraps. Then I glued them onto the canvas, and stitched around the borders with embroidery thread.
