Metaphorical Subjects
In this painting, there is a peach and a doll's dress. They are suspended in space, and function as actors on a stage. The curtains can close at any time, and the show will end. The barbed wire fence holds them back. The content of this painting is about temptation, and that balancing act we play as we try to exercise self-control. Essentially, the theme addresses desire: the gap between what I want and what I need. I have self-imposed limits, which is what the barbed wire represents.
